September

The first half of the month has been filled again wtih playdates and walks. I'm trying to plan our days a bit better so that Nefin at least gets a good morning nap as it took us weeks to recovering from our outing to Orchard Road a few weeks ago with Jenna and Reed where Nefin didn't sleep at all all day long! Both Jenna and I learned our lesson.

We've booked a weekend away in Langkawi next week which will be fun. Not our usual type of holiday where we are staying in a cheap hostel. This time we are going resort style!

Nefin has been an absolute pleasure to be with and I'm loving being a mom. He literally won't stop talking all day. It was an overnight change - he woke up one morning and talked and talked and talked all day long. I was coughing the other day and heard a funny noise, looked over and he was laughing his head off at me!

On our way to Pulau Ubin via the bumboat

The only danger on Pulau Ubin is the falling coconuts!

Mental

The exersaucer. At the moment he only enjoys it for a few minutes before he gets frustrated.  His feet don't quite touch the ground yet.

I can't always be cute!

Back in Singapore

It's been a whirlwind of a month with Gareth going back to work and Nefin and I settling back in to normal life. I think at the start Nefin was getting a bit bored of seeing my face all the time as he was so used to being fussed over by so many people all summer! Nevertheless we've settled into a nice routine of going for playdates and nice walks every day. Oh and we usually hit the pool a few times a week as well. Luckily I have several friends in Singapore with babies around the same age as Nefin. Regardless of their age Nefin is bigger than them...

On the weekends Gareth and I make sure to go someplace new with Nefin. It's actually taken the boredom out of living in Singapore as we've discovered a lot of cool new places. Nefin has definitely discovered his voice and smile this month which has made our days so much fun. I can spend hours just  making him laugh and smile. My favourite time of day is always the morning when i go in to get him up. I wake up to him gooing and gaaing on the monitor with the odd laugh here and there. He never wakes up crying or if he does I know there is something really wrong. The other morning he was making some whining noises, not quite crying, so I went in and his bed was completely soaked. Even then he wasn't crying! We usually play on my bed for about half and hour in the morning while I enjoy a cup of tea and then it's out to the living room for some more toy action. Often we sit out on the patio and play with toys as well. After morning nap we usually head out for our days activity. That is when he has a nap... Literally the day I decided that I could start doing a bit of work from home, and emailed my boss saying that I would, Nefin decided to stop napping. It was a bit of a rough two weeks, having a grumpy little boy by the afternoon, but hopefully those days are over as he has settled into a nice routine now and I have my cheery boy back :)
